.mkv File Buffering Stalls Firefix Divx Web Player 10

This is my first post. I've been using icefilms for years, but since .mkv files have become more common I've had more problems. This latest problem I can't seem to figure out from reading previous posts.

I'm using windows XP firefox 29 divix web player 10 and ac3 filter all fully updated. The problem occurs when the Divix web player begins to buffer a .mkv file. The file seems to download fine, but once the buffering begins buffering stops, stalls or freezes at some percentage between 25 and 99 percent. While the player shows the stalled buffering, the status bar above the player continues to download the file. I've tried disabling my adblock plus and noscript and still no luck. At 180uploads a bar drops down at the top of the firefox window and says i need a codec. The link is to clkmon.com I don't know if I should trust it.

How do I get these bloody mkv files to work?

Never trust a pop-up that says you need codecs. Ever. I am assuming the problem you are describing is for streaming? The first thing you need to do is update to a newer operating system. Xp is no longer even supported, and as such nobody can really give you a definitive solution. Try disabling all unnecessary extensions/ad-ons after removing all codec packs. Run a registry cleaner. re-insall AC3 and try again. No luck?...... uninstall players, run registry cleaner, re-install divx web player and vlc. when installing vlc, select it as your default player. Still no luck?.... update your OS.

Or do like me, install the right codec pack, Klite http://www.free-codecs.com/k_lite_codec ... wnload.htm, and select full and just use default settings, it uses the right ac3 codec, and i can play most mkv files in divx webplayer. (do not select basic, it uses LAV for audio codec, and its seriously broken). so i guess its about the ac3 codec that stop mkv for playing.
Else use the VLC player, but be sure to change the buffer to like 10 or 20 sec, else u get alot of buffering issues, since VLC has 1 sec buffer as standard.
There is guides to change buffer for VLC, bit outdated, and hard to find, maybe someone will make a new guide? i even tried to find the guide, man, took me 40 min.
Guide should be on the mainpage i think.
When i direct you to a videohost that you can't download from, use a program like jdownloader http://jdownloader.org/download/index?s=lng_en
Else try this addon for firefox, it can download many things also. http://www.downthemall.net/
Also Internet Download Manager does a good job (IDM) http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/

As always use antivirus scan, but thats what im using, nothing seems wrong here.
Either burn the iso, or just extract the files to an usb drive(winrar do the job), and run the installer from there(boot up and select the usb drive)
