Well you still didn't provide a URL to a file that gives the error for anyone to check.
So without checking the file to see what codec is causing the error I can only guess.
In the past the most common audio problem is AC3 codec and to fix this problem you simply install the AC3 Filter.http://ac3filter.net/
I don't understand what kind of hybrid computer you have so I guess if you want to choose the one that works for you and try then I hope it helps.
For Mac the Ac3 filter that others have used in the past that worked for them is Perian. http://perian.org/
