ok like a few months ago everything was working fine but then out of the blue a lot of the videos started saying divx cannot play the audio file and that i needed a DirectShow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the soundtrack of this file. i dont know why this is happening or if i need this decoder if someone could help me id really appreciate it.

Forum rules

1. PUT AS MUCH INFO AS YOU CAN IN THE SUBJECT LINE (for example: Gabriel source 7 plays upside down).

2. PUT PAGE URL & SOURCE# IN MESSAGE BODY WHEN REPORTING LINKS.

FOR EXAMPLE:

http://www.icefilms.info/index.php?opti ... eo=1009#IP

source 7 plays upside down.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1348

Now lets play 20 ?'s
Your using a ?
with what specs ?
you use what browser ?
you know how much ?
what is your bandwidth/connection ?

I will add the rest of the 20 questions when I get more info.

Not all ?'s/questions are created equal (EVILGRIN)

Well you still didn't provide a URL to a file that gives the error for anyone to check.
So without checking the file to see what codec is causing the error I can only guess.

In the past the most common audio problem is AC3 codec and to fix this problem you simply install the AC3 Filter.

http://ac3filter.net/

I don't understand what kind of hybrid computer you have so I guess if you want to choose the one that works for you and try then I hope it helps.

For Mac the Ac3 filter that others have used in the past that worked for them is Perian.

http://perian.org/

Like I said you choose for your computer.
If the 2 above doesn't fix your problem then I have no Idea, but VLC has all codecs built in and it will play anything ;)

thanks you were right i needed the ac3 filter it fixed the audio issue now i can watch movies and stuff. by the way the hybrid is when you use a mac and take like half of its memory and partition it and install windows on it so you can run a mac and windows on the same computer
