Having same problem here with my apple tv. I notice that it only buffer for about 10 second instead of the 45 that everyone with a free account waits, is this could be the problem?

Rebooting the ATV takes time, prolly usually long enough for MU to reset. Otherwise reset and give a few extra minutes for MU to do it's thing.

Maybe MU likes your mom-in-laws internet better?

yes .. Can on play first movie and if a try to see something different ir will not let me, it will count the 10 seconds and it will not do nothing .. Afther a wild i will go back and then i can play again but only the fist time ,,

Just to recap the orginal issue posted in this thread is as follows.

You start watching a movie in icefilms on appletv 2nd gen and you change your mind. You hit the menu key to back out. After backing out, you can no longer play ANY movies. An Apple TV reset sometimes works and other times you have to shut the unit down and just wait and try again later.

IF you start a movie and watch it all the way until it's over - I don't have the problem!!

Just thought I'd go through the original issue posted since issues can sometimes vary.

Just so you know... it can take many minutes for MU to reset... even 10 - 15 sometimes... It depends on MU figuring out that you have cancelled to download.

I didn't know that. thanks. peculiar how it doesn't happen when I bring the box over to my inlaws. I can back out of any movie playing without any problems and still be able to play movies. Like mentioned before, maybe somehow the network/internet plays a role in this as well.

yes thats exactly the problem:

I've seen the same symptoms posted around, which searching for this issue in google. They all just sort of end with no resolution or even an explanation.
