Trouble with downloaded MKV files

I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I'll download a movie or TV show and the file doesn't show a snapshot of the show, but it stays a safety cone icon. They play for me, but I can't rename them, move them or delete them. So my download folder is growing in size cuz I can't move or delete them. Any ideas?

Well sometimes, its difficult to delete a movie file, sometime its because windows tries to create an index of the movie(Create that snapshot), and somehow the movie has a broken index or something, and windows keeps try to create that index when you click on it, sometimes you can wait till the hdd activity stops trying to read the file, then you can try hit delete.
There are many programs that can delete locked files or unlock the file, maybe try http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/fileassassin/
or try this program that can unlock / force the file to be released, so you can rename or move the file, or just delete , its called Iobit Unlocker, get it here.
http://www.iobit.com/iobit-unlocker.html , but it comes with an package of tools to optimize your system(optional), maybe its a bit to much. (but i use advanced system care, its good for me)

When i direct you to a videohost that you can't download from, use a program like jdownloader http://jdownloader.org/download/index?s=lng_en
Else try this addon for firefox, it can download many things also. http://www.downthemall.net/
Also Internet Download Manager does a good job (IDM) http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/

Maybe MKV files are locked by Windows Explorer while trying to generate
thumbnails. For MKV thumbnails (and other video files) I use Icaros.
