Easy Tutorial
► Step 1 –- Visit either 2shared or MegaUpload and upload a video. A MegaUpload premium account is valuable to keep your file from being deleted after 90 days. If you have more than one to upload use the MegaUpload Manager. When the upload has finished copy the download link.

► Step 2 –- Find an image to accompany your eventual forum post by searching TMDb for a movie poster or TVDB for a television banner. When you have found an image you like right-click it and choose to copy its location then upload it to ImageShack. Choose to upload a url and paste in the location of the image. After uploading you will be given a few different links. The direct link is most useful, but will require that you log into an ImageShack account. Copy the forum link if you don't have an account.

    Image

► Step 3 –- Browse the links forum and enter the appropriate sub-forum for the video you uploaded.

    Image

► Step 4 –- Make a new topic and name it with the title of the movie or television series followed by the year of release in parentheses. In the body of the topic follow the template below to give all of the required information. You will link to the icefilms.info entry at the top in large font, list the movie or each episode with a link to its TVDB or TMDb entry and IMBD entry, paste the 2shared or MegaUpload link in [ code ] brackets then, finally show a movie poster or series banner at the bottom. (01x02 stands for episode number two of the first season.)

Code: Select all

Video Title (2000)
Movie Title (2000) [TVDB] [IMDB]
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LINK
Troubleshooting and Tips
  • Read this list of tips if you get failure to connect errors when viewing a video through MegaUpload.
  • Most MegaUpload errors and the time limit can easily be bypassed by purchasing a MegaUpload Premium account. The lifetime account is normally 200 euros, but can be obtained for 75 USD by donating to megarelease.
  • New users must wait for a moderator to notice their thread post then add the contributed links to the mainsite. To become a contributing user so that you can add them directly read this list of tips.
  • The stars accompanying the viewing tutorials symbolize the methods' ease of installation, use and utility.
  • The iPad method is at 3 stars because the streaming is over wifi which, even if connected over 802.11n, is still slower than ethernet. In addition an users' viewing experience is seriously limited by the small screens and stereo out of the iPod Touch and iPhone.
  • In the Contributing to the Community tutorial I did not mention that an user has to PM a moderator to get their links noticed because I don't want the moderators inundated with PMs, besides, I have never found clarification on which moderators we are supposed to PM!
  • The choice of using VirtualDubMod was made because it is free, supports mkv, has the widest user base and is the most trusted transcoding software ever programmed.
  • MakeMKV and XviD4PSP were chosen becuase they are intuitive. It is easy for an user with a basic background in transcoding to learn how to use these programs. MakeMKV was chosen over the legendary DVDDecrypter because DVDDecrypter hasn't been updated in years. There are new DVD security measures that DVDDecrypter can't handle. Xvid4PSP was chosen over Staxrip because out of 40 jobs I put through Staxrip every single one had audio sync problems.
  • The only images I didn't make myself were the program icons, the oPlayer screenshot and the two MegaUpload download buttons (made by IFFTeam).

Important: If you have spotted any errors in this post or have anything to contribute please PM me instead of replying in this thread. I'll see a new PM much sooner than I will a reply. If you like this post or it helped you please give me a reply here with a humorous thanks.
