Wow, Krause was a teacher at Finn Hill (hmm...maybe it was actually Juanita HS - it's especially tough when the memory starts to go) when I was there! Must be ready to retire...

Ignorance and callousness are not virtues

A bleeding heart is a symbol of holiness, a symbol of compassion, not an epithet

When our discourse sinks to the level of meaningless, pejorative labels and personal name-calling rather than honest reflection and reasoned dialogue, we are no longer a people, but a mob

We don't have to believe in god, all that matters is that we behave like we do.

Awesome sauce

Yes I posted that in the threads somewhere. It was close. Winston Churchill was the one who said that. I believe it went "It doesn't matter whether there is or isn't a God. We should always behave as if there is."

So we should all fly planes into buildings?

I'm just making the point that behaving as if there is a god does not necessarily equal behaving morally. Irrational beliefs lead to irrational behavior.

Consider Life; The incredible improbability of being human.
If you don’t know a smattering of organic or bio chemistry, mathematics, statistics, physics, astronomy, programming and engineering then you cannot appreciate how truly improbable reading this sentence is.
Before you smash that gnat or ant consider for a moment the engineering involved in the tiny limbs, the intricacy of the on board vision systems, the evolution of a chemical based communication system used amongst hive creatures.
Imagine engineering the simplest life form that you can grasp within your awareness.
Only you of all the worlds creatures could undertake such a task.
The science is incredibly complex, the engineering a few years in the future.
The other day, I caught a fly in my hand and accidentally broke it’s wing.
My Sifu taught me never break anything that I couldn’t fix.
I was saddened that I broke the tiny miraculous machinery.
From a human perspective, it’s just a bug, but from an engineering perspective that fly represented technology I marvel at and admire. The fact that this technology evolved through random circumstance makes it even more magical and precious.
As a human I can use discretion in what or whom I choose to harm or kill.
How much more careful I am with advanced creatures such as mammals and man. Any one of us can destroy fellow creatures without appreciating how truly connected and unique we are.
Any one of us can break one or many hearts.
How many of us can heal a broken heart?
I for one cannot even heal the broken wing of a fly.

Z I was referring to the Natural Order of things. Especially in Human Dynamics, throughout history, the self labeled Elite have tried to control the masses. That is what is going on right now in a moderate way. In a more oblique manner then as in the past. But it is still the same old story.
And as always, they never learn. For Example, They (and I am referring to the Intellectual Property Idiots) are are trying to control a free country, in the same way as a Fascist Dictator would. The only problem is we have the Right to Bear Arms along with Freedom of Speech. And they are so blind in their "make believe little kingdoms" that they don't see the real picture.
All throughout time somebody has wanted to Rule The World, but as in this thread, we have shown, we are all just grains of sand in a desert. And what they don't understand, (as with all other control freakazoids, throughout history) is. The more grains of sand, The Bigger The Storm!
