Batman Vs. Superman

Man of Steel director Zack Snyder announced yesterday at the San Diego Comic-Con that his next foray into the world of Superman will also include Batman. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as everybody's favorite Kryptonian, while the role of the caped crusader has yet to be cast.

Technically, Christian Bale could bring the cowl out of retirement since Christopher Nolan is once again attached to the project as an executive producer, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Can't wait to see what Snyder and Nolan put together for this DC team-up.

On a side note, since this was all foretold in I Am Legend....

...clearly the end is near. Image

Oh, with Snyder and Nolan involved, and the Frank Miller story they're drawing from, I have a feeling it'll be worth it.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the guy that should be in the next movie....

His name's Kevin Porter, and he has the look of Batman/Bruce Wayne from the animated Batman series, and has the voice of Kevin Conroy.

Just check out this performance....

Sign him, DC... sign him NOW.

Ben Affleck.

*sigh*

“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some" said Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros. earlier today. "His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman," added director Snyder. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

“We are so thrilled that Ben is continuing Warner Bros.’ remarkable legacy with the character of Batman," continued Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution President Sue Kroll. He is a tremendously gifted actor who will make this role his own in this already much-anticipated pairing of these two beloved heroes."

I was about to say, I liked his performance in Daredevil. I'll give him this one. I think he's a good choice. What I don't understand is why they had to ruin a perfect franchise just to star a new character.

You didn’t see this coming: Jesse Eisenberg is Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder‘s sequel to Man of Steel, currently referred to as Batman vs. Superman. Jeremy Irons is also joining the film, to play Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred. SOURCE: http://www.slashfilm.com/jesse-eisenber ... -superman/

Yeah, read about that yesterday. Jeremy Irons is understandable, but Jesse Eisenberg? The guy that looks perpetually 18 years old? WTF?

Michael Cera must have been too busy. |-(

My pick for Lex... Billy Zane...

Looks the part, is the right age, has the acting chops, and even sounds like Lex from the animated DC movies.

Okay, I'm on board. I've never really dug the little ears, but that's classic Dark Knight right there.

Not too shabby, Bat Affleck. ;)
