A more detailed Safari tutorial can be found here

1. Install
First, Please install SIMBL.

2. Download
GreaseKit-1.5.dmg (2008-03-22)

Please copy "GreaseKit" bundle from the downloaded Disk Image.

  • ~/GreaseKit/GreaseKit.bundle

And paste the copy in the

  • ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins.

Relaunch your Safari.

If the installation is successful, you'll see "GreaseKit" on the menubar!

Omen, I can not get Greasemonkey to work. Installed the updated SIMBAL and everything, but the on screen instructions don't really match what I'm seeing. Once I install SIMBAL it doesn't show up in application support or whatever, so I can't copy the Greasemonkey thing to it. Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Omen,

I been trying to install this on Safari but it is not working.
The SIMBL installed fine but there are many versions of the GreaseKit-1.5.dmg
And I'm not sure which one to choose since there are multiple versions of the 1.5
Thanks!

I bought a Mac and had the same problems....I fixed by installing Chrome. Chrome has GreaseKit in it.

Hey. I'm using Safari on Windows platform now. How can I install GreaseMonkey etc, when you need to be on MacOS to install the SIMBL?
Thanks

For those of you having problems, you are in ~Library rather than Mac HD/~Library.

Yes, there's a difference. To get to the right one, click the hard drive icon on your desktop, then go to Library. If you don't have a hard drive icon on your desktop, go to Finder -> Preferences -> General to add one.

You're welcome!

Easier option is NinjaKit. Its a safari extension, so no folder hunting. Has some better capabilities and is able to run more scripts on Safari (have them actually functioning like they should).

i'm new to mac in general so I don't know where anything is.. sorry to sound dumb but i've downloaded everything I just dunno where I am copying the GreaseKit bundle too.

I think i've actually found the library-application support, but when I opened it SIMBL wasn't there. So I moved it there from downloads but I don't know what to do next?

All help would be greatly appreciated :) thanks

just for an update: since safari 5.1. is out everything has changed. You are still able to install the Greaskit, but the ICE does not work anymore. means no player is opening on the MU page. everything works fine till yesterday. so last working version for this way is 5.0.5.

i really really hope that someone is able to fix this. please let me know!

Hi! I have the same problem as mentioned before but I didn't see any response so I'll explain it again. My GreaseKit is installed correctly (I can see it in the toolbar), but the thing is that when I click on the install link of the script a programming page shows up and I don't know how to install it... Please help!
